Last Saturday night we packed into Human People Brew Cafe in the Roosevelt neighborhood — a cozy room with warm lighting, genuinely great beer, and the kind of pizza that makes you stay for "one more track" and then somehow it's been an hour.

This one was special for us: the debut of our new custom speakers — Baltic birch cabinets, waveguide-loaded highs, and built with a ridiculous amount of care by Will Jennings. Will was there in person to hear them in the wild, in a real room, with a real crowd. No lab conditions. Just bodies, chatter, clinking glasses, and low-end pressure.

We hit a couple snags: a flaky Technics dropped a channel for three songs and a cartridge head came loose mid-set. We fixed it on the fly and didn’t let it derail the night. Lesson learned: keep your gear dialed.

Musically, this set lives where we love to live: tropical grooves, cumbia pressure, Latin psych, disco-boogie heat, and the weird left turns that make it feel alive. From the deep, slow-build opener into the first wave of boogie, then straight into Amazonian cumbia and modern Colombian mutations — it was one long rising line.

Huge thanks to Andrew and everyone at Human People for having us and making the night feel easy. This one felt like a real milestone: new sound, full room, and the kind of vibe that reminds us why we do this.
